Sustainability report 2022
In 2022, the board of Snells Entreprenad AB decided on a sustainability policy.
“In 2015, the world’s heads of state and government adopted a new development agenda; Agenda 2030. It consists of 17 global goals for sustainable development aimed at eradicating poverty, stopping climate change and creating peaceful and secure societies. Our aim is to contribute to fulfilling these global goals.”
“Snells Entreprenad AB is a profitable, successful and sustainable (socially, ethically, environmentally and financially) business. Our long-term success as a company is linked to the social and environmental challenges. By acting in a sustainable way, we gain long-term financial sustainability. Together with our employees, suppliers and our customers, we make a difference to society.”
“Our definition of sustainable development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Snells Entreprenad AB includes financial, social, environmental and ethical aspects within the definition of sustainability. This implies respect for and protection of the environment, human rights, employee rights and business ethics.”

As part of the sustainability work, a Code of Conduct has also been decided by the board. The code of conduct summarizes the common rules and values that everyone within Snells Entreprenad AB must work according to in order to create trust and good relations with colleagues, customers, business partners and the company’s environment.
An important part of sustainability work is the social perspective. This perspective includes the company’s desire to contribute to society’s development. For Snells, the development of the local community is particularly important and several activities have been carried out during the year to promote the purpose. In 2022, Snells foundation was established for the future of Tornedalen. The foundation’s purpose is to encourage entrepreneurship, team spirit and camaraderie as well as good and sustainable achievements that drive development in Tornedalen. SEK 1.5 million was allocated for the foundation and the first distribution of scholarships took place during Pajala market in 2022, when a total of four scholarship recipients received a combined ammount of SEK 150,000.
Work environment is also part of our sustainability work. Snells has historically and also in 2022 been spared from very serious incidents and accidents. Work environment is prioritized and under continuous improvement. In 2022, a total of 127 risk observations and 35 incidents were reported. There were a total of 13 accidents, the most serious of which was a traffic accident within the mining area in Kaunisvaara where the driver of a tank truck was injured but recovered after some time. The most common form of accident is falling from a machine, as well as crushing and cutting injuries to body parts.
