Snells signs a contract for LKAB in Svappavaara

We have reached an agreement with LKAB regarding a contract for machine and transportation services, handling of raw materials and additives, as well as ancillary services in Svappavaara. The contract is for four years with an option to extend, and it comes into effect on January 1, 2025. Our preliminary assessment is that we will need to recruit up to 60 people.

  • We know that there is extensive experience and high competence among those working on the project today, and of course, we are interested in bringing this expertise on board, says CEO Magnus Pekkari.

Sustainability is high on the agenda for LKAB, and we have some new ideas on how to reduce the negative impact of operations on the environment and climate. There are opportunities to test solutions that have not yet been tried in other mines in Sweden. We will present more about these ideas here in the near future.

  • It feels incredibly good that LKAB is giving us this trust, and we will manage it in the best possible way. We are very much looking forward to tackling the new challenges that this new contract entails. We will need to make significant investments, recruit new talent, and build a strong organization around the project, says Magnus Pekkari.

The recruitment process for the assignment will start within a week.
